    Das Format ist aussergewöhnlich im Hochformat.

    Schönes Papier und bei White Hands eine Zeichnung am Anfang jeder Geschichte. Hab richtig gemerkt wie das den Lesegenuss fördert. Und die Kurzgeschichten sind lesenswert-vor allem die Charaktere sind sehr gut gezeichnet. Obwohl das gar nicht übermässig gross ausgewalzt wird-also so ist zumindest mein Eindruck.


    Finde sein Englisch auch gut verständlich. Es ist nicht mit x-fachen ungewöhnlichen Adjektiven etc überfrachtet.

    Würde sagen das wäre ein guter Anfang auf englisch zu lesen. Habe mich mal mit einem Autor&Mitforisten unterhalten. Er hat Recht…irgendwann kommt man eh nicht drumrum :)

    vielen Dank fürs Taggen und vor allem auf den Hinweis auf das Buch hier im Forum!

    Ich bin auch der Meinung, dass das eine tolle Publikation ist, die für jeden Freund zeitgenössischer Weird Fiction von Interesse ist - ich hatte schon gehört, dass es eine Ausgabe mit den letzten Geschichten aus dem Nachlass geben soll ... jetzt ist auch klar, bei welchem Verlag sie erscheint. Ich bin noch am Überlegen, ob ich mir eine der limitierten Editionen gönnen soll oder auch auf die TB-Ausgabe warten soll.


    Katla - schicke Dir zum Thema Mark Samuels etc. auch noch eine PN - wird mal wieder Zeit für einen ausführlichen Austausch! ;)

    Apropos of nothing werfe ich mal ein, dass ich mir alle zehn Finger nach einem Übersetzungsauftrag lecken würde.


    Lese gerade The Age of Decayed Futurity (2020) und bin vollkommen hingerissen von der ökonomischen Schönheit der Sprache. Auch, wenn die Geschichten - anders als die von Written in Darkness - ziemlich vorhersehbar sind, ist der Stil noch eleganter und schraubt meine Erwartungen sehr in die Höhe.
