    Ich kann jetzt schon sagen, das es eines der besten Bücher ist, die ich heuer in die Hände bekommen habe. Genau SO will ich meine Fantasy haben: erwachsen, mit viel Ironie und einem ganzen Berg an Sense of Wonder, den ich nirgendwo anders herbekomme außer genau aus diesem Buch. Großartig.

    Steht schon länger auf meiner Leseliste, aber gerade erst geordert und ich freue mich jetzt bereits sehr darauf.

  • Wir sind fünf - Matias Faldbakken

    Ach, ich habe gar kein Fazit geschrieben: Großartig. Was mich am meisten gefreut hat, war, dass Faldbakken wieder einmal bewiesen hat, wie wandlungsfähig er ist -- das liegt vor allem in der Kraft seiner Stiikistik und seiner wundervollen Figurenarbeit begründet, denke ich.

  • The Only Good Indians, Stephen Graham Jones

    Ich bin durch, und es liegt eine wirklich schön, dunkle, aber auch zornerfüllte und traurige Geschichte hinter mir. Dieses Buch ist weit jenseits aller indigenen Folk Horror-Klischees, respektiert sie aber auf ganz eigene Weise und fühlt sich dadurch authentisch an. Es gibt auch lange, rein belletristische Phasen darin, und allgemein ist das Phantastische vorhanden, fühlt sich aber nicht Phantastisch an, sondern wie ein natürlicher Teil dieser mundanen und bitteren Welt, wird beinahe schon herabgespielt, um das Besondere daran zu nehmen und es wie mundanes Schicksal junger nordamerikanischer Eingeborener ohne klare eigene Identität ausspielen zu lassen. Alles sehr langsam, beinahe schon bedächtig, sogar die wenigen Action Szenen. Ich bin schon gespannt, wie das von den LeserInnen der CD Reihe aufgenommen wird.

    Nein, gibt's noch nichts auf Deutsch. Genaues Veröffentlichungsdatum wurde noch nicht genannt, soweit ich weiß.

    Ich bin jetzt übrigens schon im letzten Drittel. Wenn man keine langsamen Geschichten, die eher in die Tiefe als in die Breite gehen, mag, sollte man die Finger davon lassen. Ich mag es aber gerne.
