Danke für den Bericht ! Ich habe das Buch bei einem Inder schon bestellt und durchgelesen. 4 schwarz-weiße Bilder sind tatsächlich ganz interessant.
"Der Nebenbuhler" erschien mir etwas flach (das Thema des Wiederkehrers). "Im Traum ?" ist sehr schön und antologienreif.
Wie kommt man an Hathitrust ran ?
Kleine Korrektur zu meinem Bericht:
Es fehlen : "Der Vater", "Die beiden Masken" und "Spinne".
Das Buch " Dunkle Gänge" ist angekommen und mich ein wenig unangenehm überrascht. Statt 12 Erzählungen gibt es hier nur 9. Das hängt wahrscheinlich mit der Ausgabe zusammen. Die erste Ausgabe erschien im Jahre 1913 und meine - 1921.
Es fehlen : "Der Vater", "Mit beiden Masken" und "Das fremde Land".
Sonst ist das Buch eine Reprint-Ausgabe in Fraktur. Die indischen Freunde sind nicht besonders zimperlich und haben sich einige kurze Vermerke mit einem Kugelschreiber auf der Innesetein des Titel-,Rückblattes erlaubt. Irgendwo innen sieht man Abdruck "Google".

Ich habe vergessen, Präfix "an" hinzufügen. Also, der Inder bietet das Buch über Abebooks an. Bei deutschen Verben muss man scharf aufpassen.

Ein Inder bitet das Buch bei Abebooks für ein paar Euro an.
Um so mehr interessiert es mich, ob zwei andere Geschichten auch gut sind.
Bloch 2-1757, Kosztolanyi ( Die Schreibweise variiert stark) war ein ungarischer Autor.
Der Band enthält einige phantastische Erzählungen, ich fand das Buch aber nicht so prickelnd.

Ich wüsste gerne noch wie es da also mit der Zahlung nun aussieht, bei der Bestellung von einem Buch um das es hier in diesem Beitrag geht, also dunkle Gänge von A.M. Frey, Kreditkartenzahlung oder Paypalzahlung?
Ja, PayPal. Und zwar so: bei einem Anbieter stand der Preis bei Abebooks in Euro . Der Inder verlangte plötzlich den Preis in Dollar. Ich habe um die Korrektur gebeten und dann ging alles in Ordnung. Ein anderer Anbieter hat den Preis in Euro angeboten und in Euro verlangt.
Ausserdem habe ich geheimnissvolle Dynamik mit der Preisentwicklung gemerkt. Nach meiner Bestellung haben sich die Preise leicht nach oben hingezogen.
Und zuletzt: gibt es noch ein paar Bücher von Kurt Münzer auch bei Indern zu kaufen. Wer weiß,was alles noch dort im Angebot vorliegt.
Das Buch habe ich bestellt.Es ist noch nicht da. Ich glaube,das Buch wird wie "Mitternachtsbuch" von Paul Frank aussehen (Keine Fraktur, Facsimilie Publisher). Das Wichtigste ist für mich,dass so ein seltenes Buch und dazu noch für so einen bescheidenen Preis überhaupt zu haben ist.
Der Textauschnitt aus der Frey-Biografie von Stefan Ernsting (sehr empfehlenswertes Buch):
"1913 erschien Freys erstes Buch im Münchener Delphin Verlag, eine Sammlung von Erzählungen aus der "Licht und Schatten",mit dem Titel "Dunkle Gänge.12 Geschichten aus Nacht und Schatten". Die Kurzgeschichten in "Dunkle Gänge" standen weitestgehend in der Tradition von Edgar Alan Poe,den Frey schon als Jugendlicher verehrt hatte.Sein eigener Stil war noch nicht ganz ausgeprägt,aber bereits deutlich zu erkennen.Dr.J.A. ...Vor allem die lebenden Toten hatten es ihm angetan.Versuchsweise nahm er den Umweg über die klassische Gespenstergeschichte ("Das unbewohnte Haus"),aber meist ging er mit der drastischer Direktheit zur Sache.Zwar hielt er sich noch an die unterhaltenden Elemente des phantastischen Genres,aber er fand immer wieder einen Weg,um mit den Erwartungen des Lesers zu brechen. In "Die beiden Masken",einer Hommage an "The Masque of the Red Death" (E.A.Poe), versucht eine lebenslustige Frau beim Maskenball einem anderen Gast seine Maske zu entreißen.Die Maske des flüchtenden Unbekannten enthüllt ein schwarzes Loch als Gesicht, und die Frau bricht röchelnd zusammen......
Im " Weltuntergang" wird die Welt über Nacht von Dunkelheit eingehüllt......
